Reach Plaka by metro. It’s only 6 metro stops. Get off at Monastiraki and walk in the midst of the ancient ruins, the Roman Forum, Tzistarakis Mosque, Ancient Agora & more.

For a current city tour, visit the Olympic Stadium known as OAKA. The stadium was named after Spiros Louis, the Greek marathon winner in 1896. Take bus 602 or take the metro to Irini & Neratziotissa or take a 10 minute car drive. There are 2 large shopping centers nearby.

The hosts were amazing and treated us like family. Provided us with a map of the city and the best places to visit and eat close to the apartments. The apartment was very clean and cute. Had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. I would definitely stay there again if I come back to Athens. I highly recommend this authentic experience rather than a hotel.

I have stayed here regularly over the past ten years. The apartments are great: really clean, comfortably furnished, and with all the pots/utensils you need. Sophia is constantly improving them (upgrading furniture and appliances), as if it were her own house. It's a great location too - very pretty with all the citrus trees, and convenient to shopping and the subway station. I looked forward to staying at Sophia's every time I go to Athens.
